I've been looking at vintage photographs lately in my sketchbook and adding my own spin.

I swore to myself that I would dedicate myself fully to my sketchbook during this post-graduation, pre-job stage. Well, somehow watching the entire series of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer has become my time holder instead. I've been using the age old excuse of "I don't have any project ideas," which is dumb, I need to keep exploring, nothing comes out of.... well, nothing.

All that rant aside, here are some of the sketchbooky things that have appeared since I last updated this blog. Maybe my goal for the summer should be to find a project. I have a feeling I'm going to miss having deadlines like I did with school. Alas,

Girl Scouts Rock the Mall

Last weekend was the celebration of a 100 years of Girls Scouts with the Rock the Mall Event in D.C. It was crazy. We got all of about 10 feet into the event and never really got a chance to do anything. Seriously, there were thousands of Girl Scouts everywhere. (We took the Metro in from Maryland, and I feel so sorry for all the locals who had to deal with us clogging up the line).

Sketchbook Dump: Architecture

I've been following a blog on tumblr that posts illustrations from old books, and they featured a ton of architecture drawings. I've found myself fascinated by these drawings, and Victorian houses (because you can't deny that Victorian houses are kick-ass).

I'm into pre-coloring the pages now apparently... but I'm kinda digging this look.

30 Days: Technology

I've been trying awful hard to be nice to my poor, poor mac, but it's turning out to be a hassle. The mouse pad doesn't work anymore (usb mouse for that reason), the battery is falling off the back (hence the duck tape on the bottom), sometimes the keyboard goes out so I can't type anything and I have restart it (sometimes several times in one day). I can't blame it all the computer, I'm horrible at taking care of things (I don't think spilling glue in the key helps at all). Anyways, what I'm trying to say is: Why am I so freaking addicted to technology so much that I'm praying so hard that my parents will buy me a new laptop for graduation?

I feel like a mega loser because I had to quit my 365 project (kinda sad 'cause I had less than four months left....) .... I don't really have time with my BFA show coming up, and tons of studying and school. And I was also having a hard time figuring out what to draw and it was getting really annoying and not fun anymore.  So I'm trying something new, because I feel like I still need to keep drawing no matter what's going on, but I can't keep up with the day to day format. After trying to find sketchbook prompts on the internet with no success (and probably little patience that day), I stole one of those 30 Day Picture things people do on facebook, and I'm going to do it... except with drawings. First day is to draw your bed... obviously. :D
